Terms and Conditions of Employment

Ø       10 working hours per day (Monday to Saturday)

Ø       sick leave benefit not exceeding 30 days in 1 year

Ø       Medical examination a day after arrival and special briefing orientation on the country’s laws and culture

Ø       The trainee visa can be converted into an employment visa after a year and passing a competitive exam

Ø       Total period of employment should not exceed 3 years.

Ø       After finishing a 3-year employment contract, a foreign worker can return to the country after 3 years.

Ø       Employers provide only the return air ticket of the trainee at the end of the contract.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Ø       It is illegal for employer to keep the workers passport and money.

Ø       Have your original copy of your marriage contract and birth certificate of children for tax exemption 

Ø       Worker cannot change employer or job without finishing the contract

Ø       Respect Korean tradition, customs, practices and strictly observe all their laws and regulations

Ø       Prior to leaving open a savings account  for remittance purpose.

 

Common Problems

Ø       Excessive collection of fees by recruitment agencies and Korean brokers

Ø       Lower salaries compared to other non-member of CAK and KFSMB companies

Ø       Low take home pay after the monthly deductions from the worker-trainees’ salary

 

Risks of Running Away

 

Ø       Revocation of employment permit

Ø       Arrest, detention and deportation

Ø       Deprivation of future employment

Ø       Loss of personal belongings

Ø       Fabrication of false accusations by  employers

Ø       Ruins the image of and employment opportunities for Filipinos
